If it is worth doing, it is worth doing badly

I’m a bit of a perfectionist which means that a lot of stuff never gets to happen. I’m also a person with quite a lot of annoying limits.

One of the things I have been trying to teach myself is that if something is worth doing, it is worth doing badly. A badly tidied living room is still a lot better than a living room that never even got that far.

Art that you enjoyed doing but maybe was not your best work is still a lot better (and good for your mental health) than a blank canvas or an empty page.

Art need not be perfect. Indeed, it might be the imperfections that make it so appealing.

Go forth and create with whatever level of effort you can manage. Do half a job if you want because that’s a lot more than no job at all.
